AMAZING! Wish I could rate 9000 stars!
My 12 year old son loves this tablet. (He bought it with his own money) He can freely play Minecraft, (one of his favorite games) with no lag, no matter which world he uses. He would easily get frustrated when his old tablet, lagged when he played on it. The tablet build-up itself is absolutely mesmerizing, it is slim, with a huge screen. HD is an understatement, due to the bright and vibrant coloring. The animations, along with the speed of the tablet, are very smooth and fast.My son just LOVES this tablet.

Beautiful Tablet for the Price
I just checked and found that this 10″ tablet is my 11th Kindle Fire tablet since 2011, so you may say I’m a fan! My husband gets my hand-me-downs, and since had I just bought a new 10″ tablet back in February (ocean), he now gets that one and I get the new one (lilac). So we’re both happy. We mostly use our tablets for reading, and for that purpose, they work great. This 10-inch tablet is a nice size, not too heavy for reading or browsing the internet. Overall, it is a nice looking tablet at a good price and does what I need it to do. That being said, there are some limitations:1) I’m not much of a gamer, but some years back, I got a few games for free on a Black Friday sale and enjoyed playing them. I also downloaded another game that is free to play. All three of these games worked great until I got to end-game. I then had problems with the game slowing down and even freezing to the point where I was unable to play them to the finish. I tried adding extra storage, even going so far as buying a newer tablet, but ultimately realized that it was a RAM issue. It’s disappointing to me that games would be sold in the Amazon Appstore when the RAM on the tablet wouldn’t be able to support the demands of the game. There is an upside: I stopped playing them and now have more time to read, yay!2) Even though my tablet is new, it is becoming more and more apparent that Amazon is no longer supporting some of its own apps. These apps are no longer working (although the sites themselves can still be accessed using the Silk Browser): Goodreads, which Amazon owns, so this is really a mystery, especially because so many people do use their tablets for reading; and both the Shop Amazon and the Photos app now take you to the Silk Browser, where you need to sign in each time to access. In the case of the Photos app, it seems to have been replaced with the new Gallery app, but as of this date, Gallery is extremely limited in function. To use a new photo wallpaper, for example, I had to click on the Photos app, sign in, find and download locally the picture I wanted to use, and only then could the innate wallpaper chooser “see” the photo, which was also then available in Gallery. Whew! Prior to this change, the wallpaper could be easily changed in one step, as Amazon Photos was one of the choices, along with the built-in wallpapers, and you could scroll and select a photo as desired. If you’re not an end-gamer or don’t really need or rely on the built-in Amazon apps, you’ll be fine, as this is still a more than decent tablet for the price.

Great value for every day tablet
This is my fifth Fire. I broke the screen in my last one so I used trade in and a prime day discount to get to this for about $60! Love the new design. Screen is bigger and it’s definitely lighter. It does almost everything I need. Really wish it came with google play out of the box, but that’s not a deal breaker. Love the addition of 365.

Very good!
Having a keyboard attached to my Kindle is wonderful. It’s handy just to flip it open, turn it on, and you’re ready to go. I’ve used it for months now and haven’t had any issues. I do suggest that they add a magnetic or tie closure to hold the case open for regular use because the cover tends to flap around if you don’t have a good grip on it. I WISH THE KEYBOARD WAS LIT FROM BEHIND! Luckily I can type without looking at the keys but a light is never a bad thing on a keyboard. Pairs easily, works great, good touch feel to the keys as well. If you type more than a few words at a time, you’ll never regret buying this. I’m not a fan of Kindle’s electronic “keyboard”, with it’s lack of clipboard for common phrases that I use and a few other issues. This saves me a lot of frustration. Another product I recommend from Amazon.

Lightweight. Easy to handle…
Lightweight. Easy to handle, hold, for long periods of use. Fast. Good tactile response. Like it a lot. Good price.I purchased it without the battery draining ads on lock-sceen. However there are numerous apps pre-installed that it won’t let me uninstall.IT IS STILL ALL ABOUT ADVERTISING.And it will not integrate with a lot of apps that I used to have on another tablet, that I am used to using, so that is a drawback, and disappointing.

Super Nice!
I have always had good luck with Fire Tablets but people being people we occasionally buy price not product (STUPID) !In a nutshell this tablet puts all others to shame including Chrome books and PC’s, this just works and is fast on the internet, gotta hand it to Amazon, they make a really nice tablet, tough, excellent software behavior outstanding true vivid color and it flies online for a very reasonable price and the stuff lasts!Try one, if you don’t love it return it….zero risk, but I know like me, it has found a home!

I Keep Buying Kindle Tablets! Incredibly Versatile!
I have a herd of Kindle Fire Tablets from over the years. I think I buy at least one new one every 2 years, if not yearly. The price is right, especially during Prime Day or Black Friday sales, so why not? The “old” ones then become upgrades for my parent’s tablets — or they get used as a touch-screen interface to a music system or home automation system, or they upgrade the *really* old ones that eventually become too slow or are no longer supported. I have a few tablets I designate for use when I’m outside grilling or partying and don’t mind getting beat up a bit. These 10in tablets are a nice size for when you want a bigger screen. We’ve used them on Zoom calls with relatives and it’s nice not having to listen to the noise of a laptop fan spinning up and down while video conferencing. I’ve used them with some cloud gaming services and once again, it’s awesome not having to hear a fan like you usually would when playing games on a laptop or PC. I’ve also used these tablets to connect remotely to my desktop. Paired with a bluetooth mouse and keyboard you can essentially use the tablet as a “thin client” to connect to a more powerful PC and the battery lasts a lot longer than a normal laptop battery would. I’ve used some drawing applications on them too, where even if you just use your finger and pinch-zoom to magnify, you can actually create some pretty nice drawings if you’re artistic. The world of apps and usefulness of Kindle tablets really opens up if you side-load Google Play Store. I like Tinycam for viewing wireless pet cameras, SuperDisplay and EasyCanvas for a lag free display for Windows, Squeezer for remote control of Squeezebox music system, Pinball Arcade for pretty authentic pinball experience, Microsoft Remote Desktop to connect to Windows desktops, NoMachine to connect to Mac Mini lag free, Steam Link & a bluetooth Xbox controller to remote play games from my desktop, Touch Portal (powerful remote macro control deck like Steam Deck), Sketchbook for intuitive drawing, Squid for note taking and brainstorming ideas, SimpleMind for quick mind maps, Engross for todo lists, Habits for easy habit tracking, MyRadar for viewing live weather radar & the list goes on! Again, only after installing Play Store do you open up that world of possibilities, otherwise you are limited to what’s on the Amazon App Store. If you’re a bit technical it’s not hard to figure out.My wife and I love our Kindle Tablets and this 10in tablet is was the newest member of the group. We’ve had very few issues with any of the tablets we’ve bought over the years, aside from some of the normal things that happen after you’ve installed dozens and dozens of apps and at some point have to wipe the tablet to clear it out and speed it up. But no hardware issues to speak of really. They’ve just “worked” and have been pretty rock-solid. Unless they become more expensive, or quality changes, we’ll continue buying Kindle tablets in the future.

Gorgeous video quality
Being a senior newbie in ownership of the first tablet ever, I really like this tablet. I’ve had it now a month and being disabled, I have been using it faithfully every day for many many hours per day. Since I’ve never had a tablet before I can’t really compare it to another. But, there are a couple of issues I have been having and don’t know if this is normal behavior for a tablet or not.First issue that is really bothered to me is that after watching a lot of videos from streaming most of the day that suddenly the videos start getting “choppy.” This means that I’ll be watching a video and it hits a snag and stalls briefly and then starts up and continues to do this nonstop. It gets so irritating that I have to stop watching videos completely and turn the tablet off. No, this isn’t a WiFi buffer issue. I have a similar issue with my flat screen TV because it’s not a Smart TV, and it’s older. With the TV, though, I’m lucky if I can watch more than a movie before the subtitles go off sync with the video and have to restart. I’m suspecting that the video stalling issue might be other than the tablet, but don’t know for sure. But, I’ll have watched videos most of a day before this stalling starts to happen. Since I can’t be certain if the issue is with the tablet and not the streaming service, I give the benefit to the tablet. The second issue is with the video selection on the tablet. I’ll have the screen with a bunch of squares of different videos to select from and when I select one on the screen, it responds by opening up something completely different that is on a different part of the screen. Again, I don’t know if this is a tablet issue for sure, but it is a little annoying when I’m trying to decide on what I want to watch next and something else pops up that I didn’t select. Also, when I’m watching a video, the tablet doesn’t respond always when I touch it to pause it. Again, don’t know if this is a tablet issue or not.BUT, I love both the video and audio quality of the tablet. I got the tablet for the purpose of watching my streaming videos and it’s been a wonderful experience. One thing that really pleasantly surprised me was the audio!! Absolutely fantastic! It’s like having surround sound when watching videos!I got the case to go with the tablet as well and it’s really nice. It took me a bit to adjust to the case in maneuvering it in my bed when laying down, but it’s satisfactory. After all, these things aren’t really designed with the disabled in mind. But, it is a nice quality case cover for the tablet. I have a few cats, so the case cover protects it very nicely against their tendencies to lay atop the tablet. It’s a good protection for falling off the bed when I’ve fallen asleep! So, for my first experience with a tablet, this is great. Makes me wonder what took me so long to buy one!

Employee kudos + the secret to 15W charging!
Someone at Amazon deserves many kudos for getting this Fire HD 10 13th generation (2023 release) tablet to me before I left for Guatemala in the early morning hours of Thursday, February 8th. A few days before my trip, I went to download content on my Fire HD10 9th generation (2019 release) tablet but it would not start. I disassembled it and found the battery fully charged but the power distribution chip was toast! Finding no way to get it repaired locally, I ordered another one February 6th which, before I added it to my cart and before I completed my purchase, was promised overnight shipping. The new tablet was to arrive Wednesday, February 7th by 11am. After completing my purchase I noticed this had been changed to just sometime on February 7th. I looked at my orders around 3:30 pm February 7th and discovered arrival was now February 9th! I called customer service, gave them the what for, was transferred to Amazon shipping, gave them the what for also, even offered to drive down to the distribution center and pick it up myself! I was left with little hope of getting my new tablet before my trip. Then at 9 pm, a knock at my door, someone had come through! The Fire HD 10 13th generation (2023 release) has a vastly different x:y dimension than the 9th generation (2019 release). I had to order a new case but I like the new form factor better. The Fire HD 10 13th (2023 release) collects a lot more dirt in the groove between its glass front and plastic backing than did either my HD 10 9th generation (2019 release) or my HDX 7 before it. I’m constantly trying to get it out with my thumbnails! The power button is in the wrong place on the 13th generation (2023 release). 9 times out of 10 when I go to turn up the volume, I end up turning it off!”Do what you love, uninterrupted”…but only if you can find the secret to recharging faster than 5 to 9 hours! The Fire HD 10 13th generation says it’s native Amazon 9W charger, depending on starting battery level, takes ~5 hours to fully recharge. That’s way too long to wait if you’re wanting to use your tablet! Read on and I’ll tell you how to access 15W USB-C charging that only takes ~2 hours!I read Fire tablets with USB-C charging ports are capable of up to 15W charging. I did not want to buy a 15W charger (fire hazard) from one of the many 6 UPPERCASE CHARACTER named Chinese companies offering them here on Amazon. I have other charges from a prominent brand here on Amazon, some claiming PD 3.0, offering up to 5V4.8A, and rated up to 60W, that were taking anywhere from 5 to 9 hours. Why didn’t these work? What’s the secret to 15W Charging?Well, I found it! Fire tablets with USB-C charging ports, at least the 13th generation (2023 release) HD 10, use the PD PPS protocol to negotiate 15W charging. But why didn’t my existing name brand chargers provide 15W? There’s more detail on that below. You need a charger with PD 3.0 PPS or PD 3.1 (that’s guaranteed to have PPS) to get 15W charging. If a manufacturer claims PD 3.0 but fails to mention PPS in the product description, use the “Looking for specific info?” box to “Search in reviews, Q&A…” for “PPS”. You need at least 3A in whatever PD PPS voltage output range contains 5V.Details:The Fire HD 10 uses an order of precedence when negotiating a charging solution with a charger, first attempting PD negotiation then ultimately dropping back to basic USB Type C charging when PD negotiation fails. Basic USB Type C charging power drops off dramatically during charging leading to 5 to 9 hour charging times whereas PD PPS power stays fairly close to 15W the entire time. 15W PD PPS charging should really only take ~2 hours from ~10% to full or you’ve been taken! Some 6 UPPERCASE CHARACTER named Chinese companies are offering 5V3A 15W USB-A chargers using a USB-A to USB-C cable with integrated 56 ohm resistor to emulate a USB-C to USB-C cable. Sorry, these may be able to provide the requisite 15W but USB PD is just not available from a USB-A charger port. Some 6 UPPERCASE CHARACTER named Chinese companies offer 5V3A 15W USB-C chargers using USB-C to USB-C cables that don’t offer USB PD protocol. I have a handful of older chargers of these types from a reputable charger manufacturer and one does provide more power initially (11.5W) than the native 9W Amazon charger but basic USB Type C charging starts at lower power than true USB PD charging and drops off rapidly. I’ve seen the Fire HD 10 reported anywhere from 5 to 9 hours until fully charged for these basic USB Type C chargers.USB Power Delivery (PD) 1.0 was released July, 2012. With the USB PD 1.0 you get six fixed power profiles for different device categories 5V2A, 12V1.5A, 12V3A, 12V5A, 20V,3A, and 20V5A.The USB Power Delivery 2.0 fast charging standard was released August, 2014. With the USB PD 2.0, you got (fixed) voltages 5V3A, 9V3A, 12V3A, 15V3A, and 20V5A.The USB Power Delivery 3.0 fast-charging standard was released November, 2015. USB PD 3.0 made functional improvements but did not present (voltage) differences compared to USB PD 2.0, you still got (fixed) voltages 5V3A, 9V3A, 12V3A, 15V3A, and 20V5A.The USB Power Delivery 3.0 PPS fast-charging standard was released February, 2017. This version adds a programmable power supply (PPS) that can realize voltage and current regulation using USB PD protocol output. In addition to USB PD 2.0 and USB PD 3.0 fixed voltages, USB PD 3.0 PPS has specific PPS voltages, which are 3.3V-5.9V 3A, 3.3-11V 3A, 3.3-16V 3A, and 3.3-21V 3A, 3.3-21V 5A (100W Max). The USB Power Delivery 3.1 fast-charging standard was released May, 2021. In addition to USB PD 2.0 and USB PD 3.0 fixed voltages and USB PD 3.0 PPS programmable voltages, USB PD 3.1 adds 15V-28V 5A, 15V-36V 5A, and 15V-48V 5A (240W Max). From a prominent charger manufacturer’s website:Power IQ 1.0: Supports 5V/2.4A maxPower IQ 2.0: Compatible with QC 3.0 + Power IQ 1.0Power IQ 3.0: Compatible with QC 3.0 + PD 3.0 + Power IQ 1.0Power IQ 4.0: Compatible with QC 3.0 + PD 3.0 + Power IQ 1.0 + Dynamic Power DistributionBecause of the way Power Delivery specifications were released, a manufacturer can legitimately claim PD 3.0 support without supporting PPS needed for 15W charging Amazon USB-C tablets.I have a 45W output charger from a reputable charger manufacture that my FNIRSI FNB58 says supports USB PD 3.0 PDO:4. The 4 PD output profiles are 5V ⎓ 2.4A / 9V ⎓ 3A / 15V ⎓ 3A / 20V ⎓ 2.25A. I see the Fire HD 10 briefly (about 1 second) hit 12.4W while attempting PD negotiation before dropping back to 9W basic USB Type C charging when PD negotiation fails. The Fire HD 10 reports 5 hours until fully charged.I have another 60W output charger from a reputable charger manufacture that my FNIRSI FNB58 says supports USB PD 2.0 PDO:4. The 4 PD output profiles are 5V ⎓ 3A / 9V ⎓ 3A / 15V ⎓ 3A / 20V ⎓ 3A. My FNIRSI FNB58 says the Fire HD 10 negotiates PD 1.0 14W but it seems unable to decode the device categories used by PD 1.0. It makes no sense but the Fire HD 10 reported 2 hours until fully charged for this apparently non-PPS charger. BUT, this weird PD 1.0 negotiation doesn’t always succeed and, when it doesn’t, the Fire HD 10 drops back to 7W basic USB Type C charging reporting 7 hours to fully charge!I’m including pictures of the Fire HD 10 charging at 14.6W “43% • 1h:31 min until full” on a car charger (sorry, it was dark), the car charger supports PD3.0 36.00W PDO:4 where PDO:4 is 3.30-11.00V 3:00A, the PD3.0 45.00W PDO:4 charger that fails PD negotiation and drops back to 9W basic USB Type C charging, and the PD3.0 60W PDO:4 charger that sometimes negotiates PD 1.0 14W and other times drops back to 7W basic USB Type C charging.

Nice upgrade from an 8″ tablet. Has SD slot. Works well for me.
I was using an 8″ Fire tablet – it also worked well. My upgrade to this 10.1″ tablet was a good choice. I got it on sale, and it was well worth the difference. The larger screen brings a better viewing experience I really appreciate the fact that it supports SD cards Tip: although I had no problem using an SD card that I transferred video, audio, and other stuff onto from my computer, apparently some people DID have trouble. This tablet can format a card so that it can be used to transfer files.Using this tablet, I can get the streaming services to which I subscribe – and I can take them with me as long as I have access to WiFi. I watch videos from the SD card almost daily. This ISN’T an iPad — the screen may not be as sharp as Apple’s much more expensive tablet — but for my purposes, it works well.I don’t use my Fire tablet for browsing the Internet – theoretically, I can. Although I haven’t attached a bluetooth keyboard or Bluetooth mouse, I can conceivably use this tablet for browsing.Applications come from Amazon’s app store, so the number of apps may be lower than Google’s app store (there are ways to enable the tablet to use Google Store apps – I haven’t tried this, and won’t explain how this is done). The model I got was ad based. When you start the tablet, you’ll see an ad – often for a ‘game’ that will end up costing money to play. So far, this hasn’t bothered me enough to fork over the $15 (or so) that Amazon charges to disable the ads. This tablet has less memory than my old 8″ Fire Pro – but so far, this hasn’t been a bit of a problem. I haven’t tried recording downloads onto my SD card, although I think this is supported. For the price and convenience, I’m quite pleased with this device.

Great device for the money
Have bought and used several generations of Fire tablets and Kindle Paperwhite readers. The Fire tablets have always had good screen performance. The speed and storage haven been good. However, the screen on my last Fire tablet failed after the warranty. I returned the device and used a credit to purchase a new one; the one I presently use. So far, very pleased with it’s quality and performance.

Love love love my kindle girl!
I’ve had just about every Kindle that Amazon has put out and so far this one is my favorite.I prefer this one over the Kindle 11 Max simply because I’m a bookaholic and the 11 has a Major flaw that just is not working for me.On the Kindle reading app I can listen to my books on headphones with the assistant reader. I don’t have a lot of time to sit down and read much and I go through so many books that this feature is So important to me.It makes me really upset that the newer Kindle doesn’t have this Why they would choose to get rid of the assistive reading is beyond me. I guess you could use the Alexa app but it doesn’t work the same as just pushing play while you’re on the book already.I went on a side tangent there but it matters to me so if you’re also a big reader I’d go with this Kindle over the 11.

Works pretty good for the price.
It seems to work pretty well, but being a Kindle, it’s pretty limited in the apps department. Incapable of downloading apps like Discord and YouTube and many popular games, which is more of an app store problem than anything, but still annoying nonetheless. Not a big fan of the UI either, it doesn’t seem very advanced in my opinion.

Bigger screen would b even better! Just an inch!
This is like my 3rd big screen kindle. They’re all used daily, read, play games, that’s mostly what I use them for! It’s one of those things that helps me relax and when one dies I get excited. Love the color buy the case, used to never buy case but everytime now. Kindle very light so u need the extra little heft! But they changed just enough on the new Kindle, buttons and stuff old one didn’t work. Lol gave daughter back the one I had stolen from her. I guess ok battery life, when u have back light on high, which I need for 1 game, battery goes down quickly. Also wish there were a way u could read outside easier no matter how high the light it’s difficult to read or to c some games I play. Will obviously keep buying when needed.

Fire HD 10
I love my tablet. I’ve had other tablets that just don’t measure up. My Fire HD 10 tablet is light weight. The touch screen works great!!!! I’ve never had a problem connecting to WiFi. The battery life is long. I enjoy puzzles on my tablet. The colors pop off the screen. I’d buy it again

Nice tablet
I bought this Fire to read my Kindle and to have access to the internet. That all works. What I found frustrating is it is hard to find my books on the Fire. They are there, just harder to find what I want. I also “lost” the original look of my home page. Alexa finally came through when I asked for original settings. It should be easier to get my original Home Screen. I LOVE the battery life! I have only had to charge a few times. I think I need to learn more about how to use my Fire, but overall I’m happy with it

As long was you know the limitations…
Of what this tablet can and cannot do, this is a phenomenal choice for price and quality. It you don’t know, I recommend doing a little research. Or at least ask the AI… I have never owned one before, so i cannot speak to the longevity. But for practically reasons of having a tablet and using it for daily functions, this pulls more than it’s own weight. Thanks Amazon!

Awesome
I bought this on a huge sale for black Friday, what a deal. It’s my first tablet, I got tired of using my phone late evenings before bed and got this and a stand, also a tablet case and a strap. I love it works great, it’s very easy to just add Google play store and get all the apps you want. There’s plenty of step by step youtube videos to watch that shows you how to add the Google play store. It took me 15 minutes max. Have all my games, all my steaming apps, etc.

This was a gift. My review is based on what was relayed to me.
This was a gift for my mother to replace an ancient Lenovo Tablet that broke. She primarily uses this for games and photos.Pros:Lots of space.Supports games.Slick DesignSize is great for visually impaired.Cons:Game mode sometimes makes screen too big and cuts off key game features, and can only be fixed by exiting out of and restarting the apps which interrupts game play and progress.Bugs especially one in particular called N.E.O. Delegates keeps popping up.Trouble NavigatingAmazon Games doesn’t support Apps like Fortnite.

Works well.
Works for my needs which isn’t much. With some help from the internet, I was able to set this up the way I wanted without having to go through amazon’s registration process. Got the google playstore on it and am running the apps I want from that store. I purchased this from amazon’s warehouse. No issues with performance or cosmetics.

Good low cost tablet
This is my second Fire tablet, the first one was taken over by our granddaughter whenever she was with us. If you could see the condition of that tablet you would wonder how on earth it still works, but it does! It was dropped multiple times, tossed, sat on, the screen has spiderweb cracks & it’s duck taped together. Go figure! So when I saw this one on sale I had to have it! Right now I’m hiding it for my use only.

Don’t like some the changes
Change is good if it improves the product. But changing the placement of the on/off button on the new Kindle 10 is problematic – changing all of the buttons/inputs on this newest Kindle accomplishes one thing only: The customer is forced to purchase a new cover. Every time I brush my hand over the top of the new Kindle it turns off. I was forced to purchase a new Kindle because my old one broke. Next time, I’ll purchase a different kind of tablet or laptop so I’m not forced to pay extra for a new cover because Kindle changed the placement of buttons and inputs.

Compact & Fun
I have been getting some very good readings with my beautiful tablet. Easy to slip in my handbag, backpack, hand. Not heavy or bulky. My grandkids use it to read some of there assigned books on the go and I just love it. Thanks Amazon for having a huge selections of books to download.

Good for the price
I mean I got this on sale and for what it is, it’s really good. I don’t really care for the ads on my lock screen, but I use this mostly to read. It’s a great basic tablet that gets the job done. The speakers are decent too (I jumpscared myself with a video lol)

Kindle fire
I purchased a 10 inch kindle fire and I love it! I have a lot of ebooks on it and it makes it so easy to read. I also love gaming on it too. Worth the price for me!

Nice upgrade
Upgraded from the 8 version as it wasn’t holding charge for long. Its a bigger screen and works the same, just wish they’d transfer everything. Have to re enter passwords and email addresses.Otherwise, this is my 4th fire tablet and been happy with all.

Replaced an old Amazon Fire
My 93 year old dad has used the Amazon Fire for several years. His old one was slowing down so we ordered him a new one. He loves it. Easy to use. He said the screen looks a little larger, but I don’t think it is. Great battery life. All in all, we think the Amazon Fire is as good as any other tablet out there.

Fire tablet return
My had a older model and enjoyed very much. It finally gave out and wanted another new one , because my wife loves mah janogg online your product did not meet the requirements needed to install the app needed to play on line. So that is the only reason for returning the item and purchasing the apple tablet which will allow her to play her mahJongg.

Necessary for streaming
I use this to watch live streams on twitch. I have bought many fire tablets because they are durable and affordable. The only thing I do not like is that this newer tablet is not compatible with Rakuten Viki and Peacock.

Love
This is definitely A Must Buy. I bought this while it was on sale. I just upgraded from my Kindle Fire 7 to this HD 10 and I am loving the screen size.It is also nice I can watch movies and do much more.My older model was only good for reading books of that. I could not surf as easily or watch videos. It definitely charges much faster and I choose to purchase without ads.If I am spending money on something I want then I am going to get it set up the way that best fits me.

For the price? So worth it!
I purchased this unit primarily for using as a Kindle Reader. The resolution, color, configuration options are super. As a reader, the only issue I have is that when lying down, the tablet is hard to hold and turning pages is hard. When sitting, it is much easier to use. That said, For browsing, reading, watching videos, the tablet performs very well. The Amazon AppStore does not quite have the library options that Google Play Store has, but there are ways (search and ye shall find) to install it and have access to its expanded library. Some apps may not work, but many do.For the price, the Fire HD 10 2023 edition is well worth the price. If you want a basic tablet, this is for you. If you want a full-featured tablet, prepare to spend much more money. I am very satisfied!

Awesome!I love it!
Love this tablet for if you have Amazon prime especially download your movies off of your TV that you purchase from Amazon for Amazon prime on the go movie watching without having to be online.Especially good for Amazon prime subscribers. They apps are built to cater to Amazon so the selection might not be as good is the only thing I really found.Keep in mind this is a wi fi tablet is how using the internet won’t work if you go through another company and try to open a line up for it if your trying to go through your current internet service unless you have wi fi set up then it don’t matter but if you don’t have wi fi in home you will have to find it elsewhere where they have it or Hotspot on phone setup so just remember that. That was a bummer for me I wasn’t inclined to have that knowledge at the time I have old school broadband so if you have wi fi perfect if you don’t be prepared to either get it in your home or be somewhere you can use it.

Not what i expected but it worked fine
Pretty nice 10″ But i didn’t expect it to still have so much amazon bloatware or whatever it was that is loaded with everything amazon. That killed my fun with not having a “clean” tablet, even after i went and paid extra for that removal of Ads. It really barely made a difference to me anyway. So i returned it. Next time IF i decide to get a tablet to carry instead of my trusty laptop i’ll know better. Amazon was great with the return and refund was no hassle which i am glad about.

Just started using – quite impressed
Ages ago, I owned a 2nd generation iPad and didn’t get much use of it. So this time round, I was debating over this product vs Samsung or Apple. I just needed inflight entertainment, and was glad I went with his well-priced option. I travel on an airline that doesn’t always provide in-seat monitors. Setting up my Netflix and Prime downloads was super easy. The downside is I cannot watch YouTube TV or AppleTV. So I would have to switch to my iphone instead. Battery life is excellent. Was able to download plenty of episodes for my 5 hour flight. The tablet gives you options on the download quality, so it allows you to save on storage. The Bluetooth feature is a minor letdown because it couldn’t locate my beats pods, but did fine with my boyfriend’s AirPods, but this was while sorting out my audio on the plane. Might try to set the Bluetooth pairing while at home as it picked up other devices around me on the plane. Picture quality is excellent btw.

Don’t buy the version with lock-screen ads!
I purchased this tablet for my child. At first, we got the one with lock-screen ads thinking that it wouldn’t be so bad. We were very wrong. It got to the point where there were so many ads, my son couldn’t even play a game without being interrupted every minute. We did a reset and removed games, but we still had issues with ads! I couldn’t even access the settings to do a factory reset without a million ads!I ended up paying to upgrade to ad-free, which was around $18. I did a factory re-set on it and the issue is now gone, thankfully!

Nice
I would give 5 stars but I believe last year or two they changed where the off on switch is, beside the volume. Well, I cut it off often. Aggravating, of course. This is my 8th kindle. Also, my first 10 inch and its awesome, yes the 11 is out but this was on sale at a great price. I haven’t been able to purchase a case yet but its needed. I was able to get a lovely lilac color. The clarity is beautiful. I did get the highest gigs also. Exciting to get.

Love my new Fire 10 tablet
I already have a Fire 8 tablet and am using that one now for reading my books. I did not want the books to transfer to the new tablet as I wanted to start fresh, but they populated in when I set it up to my wi-fi. Oh well. I got the larger tablet for watching movies and reading my emails as the larger screen is easier on the eyes. Got the lilac. Only complaint is if I had waited a couple of more days, I could have gotten it for 50 dollars less. This happens quite often with me and frustrates me to no end.

Slim and lightweight but sucky app choices
I guess I could keep this just for watching movies. But I like to read the news and play games too. I’ve been doing so on my iPhone, but wanted something bigger. I thought this would be a deal compared to buying an iPad for three times as much. Then I tried installing the apps I like to use. They have the video streaming apps but the news and game apps are sorely lacking.Local TV news stations? Yes in Apple App Store. No on Kindle Fire.New York Times crossword etc? Yes in Apple App Store. No on Kindle Fire.My favorite add-free puzzle app? Nope. Just a bunch I don’t like. And by a bunch, I mean a total of like 5. So few that I tried them all. That would be reason enough, but I’m also slightly irked by being unable to remove the Amazon brand apps I don’t use. That only bothers me because the others do and I’m so irritated that I’m heaping on.The ad on Home Screen option isn’t bad at all. I worried I would be bothered by it, but it’s pretty unobtrusive.

Great Kindle Fire
This is my 3rd Kindle, like anything electronic it bogs down and slows down after a while. This one is lighter and thinner, and the graphics are good. In my eyes, the graphics were as good on my 7th Gen, I mainly wanted to speed things up. Be aware that Google Playstore apps are not available to the Kindle without extra work, I don’t care because I have other devices and can access what I like with the Kindle. I think the price is good and it’s great for travel. I was a little disappointed to see that the charging cable is now USB C on both ends, so I need another charger when I travel or will probably just use an older cable. Def not a show stopper. I feel it’s a great buy.

It’s OK…
I loved my first Fire tablet, an HDX that I purchased in 2013. It was lightweight, and pretty sleek, and it had a higher DPI screen. It operated on the older carousel style interface, where my most recently accessed content was displayed first, regardless of what type of media (book, audio book, file transfered by email address). Every thing was pretty quick to load. I could organize into collections, but I didn’t have to wait for each media section to load (because recently accessed stuff was front and center. Then, Amazon started to keep up with other Android trends. Everything became more like an app, with a sort of tabbed content for that type of media (book, audio book, music, ect.). To open ebook, you have to activate the Kindle app icon, and wait for it to load. Or, do the same thing with the Audible app. Even on this new Fire, it can take several minutes for my music content to load, and come up on the screen. I see the blue whirl of world wide wait “loading” more than I’d like. Even with some of the shorter MP3 “albums,” like Metallica’s Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning, there can be quite a wait for it to load. If I’m trying to load one of the large classical music sets, like 99 Mozart classics, snoozeville for the loading time. For whatever reason, a lot of icons for my books are blank white, and not selectable. Almost like the image cache is corrupt and needs to be recompiled. And, I have a very good internet connection. It’s really frustrating, because the Kindle Fire was my first modern tablet device, and I loved that first one so much. I think it was the last year Amazon produced the HDX model. I like this tablet it’s a big improvement over my 2016 midrange version (I don’t remember the name for that class). It’s a big improvement on my two 2019 basic $50 models that I sometimes pack around, and sometimes do…precarious…stuff with (I really can’t play music on the 2016 or 2019 models anymore). However, I just am not head-over-heels in love with it. And, I really wanted to be that crazy about it. It’s a good device, for the price. However, I’m underwhelmed with the ability to access my Amazon content on it, particularly when it comes to the ease, and speed of doing so. I think a big part of the issue is treating each media type ecosystem as an app. Select the icon, and wait for that app interface to load. Then, choose which item you want to open within that app. I think the previous carousel idea was much less convoluted. I can’t say it’s a regrettable purchase, because I do have a substantial amount of Amazon digital content. Amazon devices are all I’ve had, until fairly recently. I just want to access my content more easily and quickly, without any drama. Especially my bigger musical collections with 99 or more tracks. Please, Amazon, do better. I honestly think it can be done.

Got 2 new 64G tablets and have used, test them fully. All you need to know…
PRICE POINT:The price point for a tablet of this caliber is very good considering it is a 64G. Comparable units are either more expensive, have less clear screens and features, or are made of cheaper materials. I recommend to make this a great product; a longer C cord and a protective Folio cover. A c cord runs about $10 and folio $15-25.13 HR BATTERY LIFE: *FAIL* – can be solved with a new, longer C cord then it is VERY GOOD.2 new 64g tablets were bought for my kids just 2 weeks ago so they would have the best version with the most storage space. The intended use is for entertainment and their school app. I ensure they are charged fully daily, which takes a few hours. They do about 1.5-2 hours on it before it dies from a fully drained battery. They do not watch tv or Youtube on it, just access apps like school and a few game apps. This is a problem because they were bought because it said it has a 13-hour battery life, but it doesn’t so I then have to have it spend 4 hours charging again so they can do more on it. This is an annoying big problem because we have to do school work on it that takes more than 1.5-2 hours in a day to do, which means they need to stop working on what homework they are doing and wait several hours to resume using it when the battery is recharged. This doesn’t do the job because of the poor battery life. In the course of a day, the tablets each get charged 8 hours and get used under 4 hours if we don’t use a longer cord and keep it plugged in during use. Not a great thing if you need to use it on its own like it is intended or how the ad states you can for 13 hours.I did not care for fact I needed to get 10 ft C cords so it can stay charged while my kids used it. The cord that comes with it is small, so much so that I can’t plug it into a wall and have it rest on my desk.If you need this for games in the car, I recommend getting an auto charger with a very long C cord.If you need this to be charged more than 2 hours max, then get a very long C cord. They make them in 10-foot range for like $10.IF you want to charge it then use it the next day, you need to turn it off first by powering down the unit. You cannot just turn the screen off to standby (not powering it down totally). It will drain the unit. Most tablets don’t do this and actually have a longer standby battery life, which is why I mention this. If you aren’t gonna use it, just power it off is the point.PARENTAL CONTROLS: *OK*I like the parental controls make it so kids cannot charge things on the tablet but even though I set it so they cannot download other game apps on it the tablet still allows them to. Why add the feature and make us go thru the process of that setup if it doesn’t work? This is not a problem though because even if they download more game apps, they still can’t charge any purchases. I do have to go in there every few days to ensure I remove the ones I don’t want them to have. The directions how to setup the tablet for a child and block purchases, make account changes for the kids, and how to do things you want to is not clear at all. I had to watch YouTube videos because instructions in and with the tablet were nonexistent or horribly unclear.GRAPHICS AND TOUCHSCREEN: *VERY GOOD*The touchscreen is very responsive and the clarity is extremely clear for graphics. It looks sharper than my 4k ultra HD TV and my Macbook. I am very impressed with the graphics.SAFETY:The tablet is made less flexible than some, but still has a bit to it. I would not own this tablet unless it was used with a protective cover you slide it into. The one we have is very good and you can use it as a protective cover when closed or open and it props up too. I very much recommend this case for this tablet. It is made better than any other case I have tried. It fits my iPad and my daughter’s 10″kindle. It is called a Fintie Folio Case for All-New Amazon Fire HD 10 and 10 Plus Tablet (13th/11th Generation, 2023/2021 Release) 10.1″

Crazy battery life. Non stop ads for amazon shopping.
Loaded full of ads, ads everywhere even paying for the extra ad removal fee. I keep the WiFi off most of the time and bundle Amazon apps into a folder to minimize it and anything I could turn off in settings. It’s just a giant ad for the Amazon store to get you to buy more things on Amazon, that’s how they sell it so cheap. I feel like the body takes too much stress damage if I don’t support it’s weight when holding it only at a corner because of how long it is.Bought it for .pdf textbooks. Thought about getting the Kindle Scribe, this is way better with instant loading of .pdfs and zooming in and out with instant loading while zooming. Battery life in the Kindle app is insane, I only use 10-20% battery per day reading .pdfs with the screen at the lowest brightness. Reading documentation on the internet seemed to consume a lot more power. Can take a very long time (~18 hours maybe) to charge to 100% batter with a standard 0.5 amp, 5watt USB connector on a computer, but the battery drain is so small I never need more than 50% charge up overnight. Keeping your fingers on the touch screen may drain extra power. Wish it had direct access to the Google Play Store for some apps. Has good screen material that isn’t soft like a Nintendo Switch and won’t be scratched from paper towels or finger nails.

Mostly Happy With Purchase – 4 1/2 Stars
I have been a Kindle Fire user for about 6 years, and I think this is my 5th one. I love almost everything about it. High definition, long battery life, great sound, and I was able to easily transfer my memory card from my older Kindle to this one. 2 Complaints: What is the “NEO Delegate” notification that never goes away? It seems as a lot of people complain about this and cannot get rid of it. My best guess it that it is program monitoring all my activity – nothing new, it just now has a name. It doesn’t seem to affect the use of the Kindle so it really is no big deal. Only other minor complaint is that it takes longer to download/upload than my previous generation Kindle Fire, in fact, twice as long. But not really a big deal. Overall, very happy with my Kindle and will keep purchasing a new one every other year or so!

Really sluggish
This is my third Fire tablet and the worst one I have had. My first one just died one day. Number two fell on a tiled floor and cracked the corner of the cover. It works fine but when I got an offer to get a small refund for buying a new one I thought it sounded like a good idea. It came yesterday and I spent all day downloading apps, updating passwords, emailing myself notes from the Notepad app so I could copy them into the new app (it doesn’t sync when you get a new tablet). Then last night I turned the tablet off because the new one does not work with the charging platform number two works with even though I thought I was getting the same thing. Then a while later I wanted to look something up on the internet and when I turned it on it would not accept my security pin number which is required for viewing saved passwords on web browser. I tried over and over and finally contacted phone support. The tech was very patient and we worked on it for an hour. We got it to accept the pin once but couldn’t get back in after that. He finally said we would have to do a factory reset. My phone was losing its charge by then so I told him I could probably handle it from there. This morning it was done reseting and my apps were all there. Of course all my passwords the browser had saved were gone and all my notes from Notepad. I’ll work on reseting them some other day. What really frustrates me is how sluggish the typing response is. It skips letters sometimes and when touching the page to turn it on the Kindle app it does not respond. My old Fire tablet, number two, works much faster. And there is a notification on my home page that I can clear. It says “NEO delegate”. The tech didn’t know what this is and could not clear it either. I wasn’t going to add the security pin number afyer all the trouble we had last night but I was trying to set up a backup email account for gmail and needed to see the password I chose yesterday. You can’t see the letters if you don’t have the security pin number, so I entered it and hope it won’t lock me out again in the future. Each time I have replaced a Kindle or a Fire tablet in the past the new one was an upgrade. This Fire tablet is definitely not. I have sent my old one, number two, in for the refund that was offered and I tempted to just send this one back. I’m so fed up with it at the mom I’m not sure I can make a good decision so I’ll give it another day. I deleted apps from tablet number two as I downloaded them to number three thinking I would be sending it in for the small refund so it has none of my apps or passwords on it and I’d have to download them all again. I just want to cry. Apple I-pad is sounding better every day. There is one for about the same price I paid for this one. I would not rec this model of Fire tablet.Update: After spending another hour on the phone with customer support we agreed it would be best to send this tablet back. I cancelled the replacement tablet because I no longer trust this product.

Fire 10 tablets are great, but plan on replacing every 3 years
My wife’s Fire tablet died last night. I’ve been sitting here trying to see if I can revive it, but no luck so far. Just had a couple of Jehovah’s witnesses at the door. I should have asked them about bringing things back from the dead. :-)The Fire 10 we ordered in 2018 lasted a little over 3 years. The one we bought to replace it in 2021 lasted a little less than 3 years. They only offer a two year warranty. Draw your own conclusions. My wife loves her tablet and uses it daily, so I have just ordered another one, with another 2-year warranty. I would have been willing to pay a little more for 3-year coverage…but that might cut into Mr. Bezos’ nest egg. We’re heavily invested in the Amazon universe. Several echo dots. Smart lights. Ring doorbell…and multiple shopping lists on Alexa. All in all, I am grateful for the convenience all this technology gives us. And I really don’t give a damn if our echo dot is listening to us. All the years of all the political issues we’ve discussed, and the Secret Service hasn’t showed up at our door yet. 🙂

Extremely touchy screen
Love the picture quality, the longer lasting battery, faster response times! This isn’t my first Kindle and this one has some different features that were a little hard to figure out. Sure wish they would come with some basic instructions especially when changes are made. However my biggest complaint is the touch screen is EXTREMELY touchy! Even responds if my clothes happens to barely brush it! Frustrating to say the least. Going to take time to get used to being so touchy. Never had this problem with any of the other Kindles I had.I’ll eventually get the changes/new features figured out and get used to the touchy screen! Being a baby boomer, this ever changing technology can be confusing! 😊

A decent low-priced tablet
Love the price and mainly use it for the Kindle app, but it has uses for email and browsing. My only realcomplaint is that Amazon has it locked down to only its limited group of approved apps. Google PlayStore and more functional apps are not available unless the Fire tablet is jailbroken-which nullifies and free or additionally purchased coverage. Even then, some PlayStore apps fail to function properly or at all on the Fire tablet. All is not lost however because at the price points especially during sales specials make it pretty easy to replace if the tablet is “bricked” in the jailbreak process.

LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE – “DON’T FIX IT IF IT AIN’T BROKE”
I had the Amazon Fire 10 Tablet on my wish list for approximately two years. I finally decided to take advantage of a wonderful sale that Amazon was having and purchased it. It’s a beautiful tablet. I really liked the size, the weight, and many of the other features (and accessories) that this tablet has to offer. HOWEVER, in view of the fact that personal security is of utmost importance to me, I attempted to have security protection placed on my tablet only to discover that this tablet would not permit it. From what I gather, this tablet comes with certain built-in restrictions which prevent the owner from downloading or installing certain programs or apps onto the tablet. After speaking with an Amazon tech on the phone and writing and receiving numerous e-mails covering this subject, I got to the point where I realized that all of the time, effort, and energy that I was expending was not worth it — especially in view of the fact that the only security protection that could be installed on this tablet was from some unknown companies that I’ve never heard of with very low ratings. The last thing I wanted was a tablet that had so many restrictions on what I could and could not do. I have a couple of friends that have the older version of this tablet, and they did not run into these restrictions when they had security protection placed on their tablets. They love their Amazon tablet, which is why I decided to purchase it — they totally endorsed it and highly recommended it. However, by the time I finally made the decision to buy one, their Amazon Fire 10 model was no longer available. I read reviews prior to this purchase covering this exact same problem, but I thought I would see for myself — that perhaps the problem was being exaggerated. The saying, “Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke,” keeps coming to mind. I should have listened to the reviews which basically stated that Amazon should have left well enough alone. I was very, very disappointed, but finally decided to return this tablet and am currently looking at other brands.

Excellent Value
However, they are a little slow and not near what an iPad is but then they are not near the price.I have some problems with the auto rotate rotating when it shouldn’t and the fire table is too slow to play fast paced games. Some times there was a multiple second delay before it responded. However, the plus side is it is easy to install the Google Play Store to get access to more apps . It is also easy to install more memory to store movies. The big plus occurs when used with Amazon Prime Movies. Movies can be downloaded onto the Fire Tablet and viewed when camping outside of WIFI, CELL or any other means of communication. I have a fire TV in the camper and I have a network that allows me to cast movies on my fire tablet to the fire TV.
